About Us

Madison Garden, (not to be mistaken as Madison Gardens) was opened in January of 1982 by owners Tom & Steve Thilman in downtown Richmond, Kentucky. Madison Garden was the first Restaurant in Richmond that had an outdoor patio where customers could enjoy horseshoes and cold beer and of course the best food in Kentucky.
Brothers Tom & Steve were born in Brooklyn, New York and worked in the Food & Beverage industry since high school and college. Tom had come down to Kentucky in June of 1974 for his junior and senior year of college where he attended Eastern Kentucky University. While working at a very popular liquor store on Main Street, both Tom & Steve liked the location of Kennedy's Hardware Store and immediately knew a local Bar & Grill was what Richmond needed and would be perfect there.
Years later in the summer of 1982, remodeling of Kennedy's Hardware took place for the change into Madison Garden. A local hangout with a diverse clientele. The rest... is history as they say. Since 1982, Madison Garden has become one of Richmond's most successful and popular places to be with the best food and specials as well as weekly live entertainment that's been catering to the unique crowd of Kentucky for over twenty-eight years.
Madison Garden offers a complete line of menus to tame any appetite with foods ranging from their famous Wings to Steaks, Salads, Seafood & Pasta. Madison Garden also specializes in their own line of products ranging from "BUFF STUFF"; a unique dry seasoning which was created by Madison Garden as well as other products and merchandize such as specialty spirits and even apparel. Madison Garden is also unique with their diverse selection of over One Hundred and Seventy-Five unique Beers from around the world. That's just some of the magic that makes Madison Garden what it's become today.

"The Gardens is a very casual atmosphere and has been a local tradition for approx 20yrs+. They have several specialties on the menu, but the best thing is their wings. You can get em in different heat levels, but what makes em special is they are dry wings and not slimy or greasy like Hooters wings. The Gardens is locally owned and managed." - KoJo
"Madison Garden has the BEST wings by far. They are a favorite to everyone. The atmosphere is perfect for large parties that just want to sit back and enjoy cheap beer and spicy wings. But be careful....sometimes too many wings and beer may keep you from making it to the homecoming festivities" :) - Jeni EKU 99
"If you're looking for a place that has a big selection of food and an even bigger selection of beer.. then you need to come to Madison Garden. The place makes you feel like your with friends and the owners will usually come out and check on you. And the wings are great!" - Joshua
